Disaster Recovery Center – DRC to Open Monday

The Etowah County Disaster Recovery Center, operated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and partners will open Monday, May 14th, 2018 at Rainbow City Recreation Center (4412 Rainbow Dr, Rainbow City, AL).  This center will be opened for all citizens who were affected by the Tornado on March 19, 2018 in the Riddles Bend Community and the City of Southside.

Hours of Operation for the Public

Monday – Saturday, 9a.m. – 7p.m. (May 14th – 26th)

Closed on Sundays

There will be representatives from The U.S. Small Business Administration, Disaster Legal Services,

GECEMA, and the Etowah County Long Term Recovery Committee.  You will find information from the

Department of Labor and the deadline to apply for any Disaster Unemployment Services will be on June 5, 2018. 

Even if you think you do not qualify for assistance, please apply and follow through with the process.  Damages

to your property may not be apparent at this time.

All affected citizens should register either by phone or online to receive your FEMA Registration number. 

• Online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or download and use the FEMA Mobile App and you may also call 1- 800-621-3362 (FEMA).

• People who are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech disability and use a TTY may call 1-800-462-7585

• The toll-free numbers are open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. ET, seven days a week.

The last day to apply with FEMA is June 25. 2018.
