Etowah County’s Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD)/Citizen Corps Council are working to ensure that Etowah County is prepared for the hardships that can be caused by disaster. VOAD/Citizen Corps’ goal is to foster cooperation, communication, coordination, and collaboration during disaster response.

Etowah County VOAD is comprised of local governments, municipalities, social service organizations, businesses and other community groups which volunteer assistance and resources in times of need. The Citizen Corps Council, which is part of Etowah County VOAD, is made up of individuals who seek to help their communities become prepared for and respond to disaster.

Etowah County VOAD/Citizen Corps Council meets on the third Tuesday of every other month, and is always accepting new members. If you have an organization that can be of assistance to others before, during, or after disaster, please consider joining VOAD/Citizens Corps. Or if you are an individual that would like to help your community, you would be an excellent candidate to join the effort to prepare Etowah County for the worst.
